Dermal Fillers Essex

Dermal Fillers EssexWhat are dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers are one of the most popular cosmetic treatments, commonly used to improve facial irregularities, such as thin lips and sunken cheeks. They are injectable products made from a substance called Hyaluronic acid (HA), which occurs naturally in the skin. HA helps to add volume and hydration to skin by binding water molecules and therefore dermal fillers are helpful in correcting lines and wrinkles as well as providing natural volume for facial contours.

What does a dermal filler treatment involve?

Depending on the treatment involved dermal fillers can take between 20 minutes (e.g lip) to one hour (e.g non-surgical facelift). The products we use contain anaesthetic so they are relatively painless, however also use a numbing cream for particularly sensitive areas. Before and after photos will be taken for your medical notes and we provide an after-care advice leaflet following your treatment.

How long will the results last?

Treatment results last between 6-18months; depending on a variety of factors such as product type, area injected, age, skin type and lifestyle.

***Dermal filler treatments require a practitioner with skill and a good understanding of facial anatomy, which our experienced team at Barstable Medical clinic possess. We see many clients that have been previously treated by poorly trained and unqualified practitioners resulting in unfavourable outcomes. Make the right choice; with our extensively experienced staff***

Are dermal fillers painful?

Your comfort is our priority, therefore we use a local anesthetic in the form of a cream on patients, applied 30-45minutes before your treatment. Whilst this will not make the injections pain free, it will certainly make the procedure more comfortable.

For areas such as tear troughs, mid face and chin, we use a ‘cannula’ technique, which reduces the number of needle injections required and therefore make the treatment as pain free as possible.

In addition we only use Juvederm products which contain anesthetic within the filler, therefore making the treatment more tolerable than some other fillers.

Aren’t all ‘filler treatments’ the same, no matter where I have it done?

No is the answer. Filler treatments are highly complex and require an in depth consultation prior to the procedure to discuss the type, amount and location of where each induvial client requires treatment. Many clinics will simplify treatments to ‘1ml’ or ‘1 syringe’; at Barstable Medical we recognize that to obtain excellent and natural looking results, the face needs to be treated as a whole, not just single areas. As a result, after your consultation we will explain to you the proposed filler treatment plan, which may involve multiple sessions, in order for you to achieve your required result.

A filler treatment at Barstable Medical Clinic, will involve full facial mapping in order for us to individiualise your treatment, as filler procedures are NOT a one size fits all. They require a strong knowledge of patients facial anatomy and how best to work WITH that patients original features, not CHANGE their features. At Barstable Medical Clinic our filler treatments are aimed at making you the best version of what you can be, not changing you to look like someone else.

Why are your filler procedure more expensive than some other clinics?

It is true you will find other clinics filler treatments or ‘syringes’ are cheaper, however we strongly agree that ‘you get what you pay for’. In order for dermal fillers to be done well, and look natural, they require an in-depth knowledge of anatomy, and extensive pre- treatment planning and facial mapping; unique to each and every person. Although ‘cheek filler’ might look great on one person, it may not be suitable for another. In addition, some patients are not candidates for tear trough filler, as it may actually worsen their eye bags. It is this expert judgement on what and where you require dermal fillers, that you will gain from Barstable Clinic, that other places may not be able to offer.

In addition, our staff have been trained by the world leader of dermal fillers- Dr Mauricio De Maoi. They also undergo annual expert training in Harley Street to ensure they remain to up to date on the latest injecting techniques. We extensively use ‘cannulas’ as part of our treatments, which ensure less bruising, a more comfortable procedure and generally more natural looking results. The number of aesthetic practitioners who are expert in using cannulas such as ourselves, are few and far between.

Finally, we see many clients coming to us from other clinics, asking for their filler to be broken down as they are unhappy with the results. On further questioning, invariably these clients have paid under £200 for their filler treatment. In general, if it is that cheap, please seriously consider the qualifications of the person injecting you AND the product they are using.
